Bukti Baru Kerusakan Lahan Gambut

GREENPEACE membeberkan bukti baru mengenai kerusakan hutan gambut di Indonesia akibat ulah perkebunan kelapa sawit yang terus berlangsung terlepas dari upaya-upaya pemerintah yang sedang berjalan untuk menghentikan deforestasi.

– Menteri Pertanian telah mengeluarkan surat edaran pada 13 Desember 2007 yang menghimbau para gubernur seluruh Indonesia untuk menghentikan pemberian ijin bagi pembukaan perkebunan kelapa sawit di
atas lahan gambut.
