Ladies and gentlemen, students, and colleagues from Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI),
Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
On many occasions, President Prabowo has offered two important keywords for us to observe. First, food sovereignty. This is not only to guarantee food availability, but also to ensure mastery of food technology and production, including encouraging and empowering community members to actively participate in securing the food chain inclusively.
Food sovereignty can also be seen as a measured and massive policy in repromoting the agricultural sector, strengthening farmer groups, and developing rural areas.
The second key message is the guideline in foreign policy to be a good neighbour, which mainstreams and promotes new approaches that have a collaborative dimension in the midst of increasingly challenging international-arena.
In our opinion, these two things are strongly related to each other. Food sovereignty allows Indonesia to practice “free and active politics” and at the same time become a “good neighbour” in the region and international arena. A good neighbour is a neighbour who offers solutions for the surrounding environment, not becoming a problem.
Based on this view, we believe that the national press community, mass media and journalists, need to understand and pay serious attention to these two important issues. As we understand, our inability to position ourselves in an increasingly challenging world-order will complicate things for us.
Today we discuss these two topics and compare them with the experiences of other countries, in this case the Republic of Korea, which is an old friend of Indonesia. Moreover, as we also know, Indonesia and Korea have been working in many projects in the framework of shared prosperity and world peace.
We believe that there are best practices that can be learned from both countries to improve the quality of relations in the new era in Indonesia under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.
Thank you,
Terima kasih,
Kamsahamnida.
Wassalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
